Fix: Sirius Internet Radio Stream Does Not Work

by David Leibowitz | April 16, 2008 | Comments: 1

If you're like me, you need a little music streamed while you work. As a Sirius satellite radio subscriber, I get access to the free web stream. But if it suddenly stops working, you might have corrupt Windows Media Player Files (WMP).

Here are the symptoms: Launch the player, select a channel and the status goes from Connecting... to Ready...

Then it just sits there.

A possible fix:

1. Close all browser windows

2. Start --> Run --> %UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Media

3. That opens your folders for WMP. Rename any of the folders in there, maybe add a ".bad" extension in there

4. Fire up the browser, and try logging back into Sirius
